Lively Helsinginkatu is a street full of history, culture and now also electricity box art. Colourful electricity boxes are spread all way from the Opera House to the Sörnäinen metro station and some bigger street art pieces can be found on the way.

Helsinginkatu Art Street- project continues the Brahe Art Field -project, where dozens of street art pieces were made all around the sports field in 2016. In summer 2017 colourful electricity boxes spread to Helsinginkatu and its surrounding areas. These were made by members of the G-REX street art group and its network. Visiting street artists from Chile, Estonia and Sweden also added their pieces to the collection. In addition to 29 electricity boxes, one larger piece was made in Linnunlauluntie, Töölönlahti. This artwork was inspired by the singing birds of our city.  Also students of Aleksis Kivi school participated in a workshop where they painted a wall outside the school’s entrance in Sturenkatu, using stencil- technique.
