Print Matters exhibition

Welcome to the opening at Pasila Urban Art Center on Wednesday 28th of February at 6 – 9 PM!
The opening of Pasila Pop-up Exhibition is happening at the same time at Opastinsilta.

Prints have always been an essential part of urban art and culture. Prints represent perhaps the most widely seen form of art, as they appear in many different contexts; in advertisements, magazines, posters, album covers, and as artistic works. Now they are exhibited on the walls of Pasila Urban Art Center in a dedicated exhibition, where the center is filled with a diverse range of prints.

“The printing press began the democratization of art, and I have used printed posters to spread my artwork and messages in public spaces as well as keep my art affordable by printing multiples. Some people say print will be wiped out by digital media, but I say you can never replace the provocative, tactile experience of a print on the street or in a gallery. Printing still matters.” – Shepard Fairey
