BORDERLINE X
Head Like A Gloryhole / Kasia May
BORDERLINE X is a group exhibition of Generation X artists that draws on personal and collective memory. The exhibition serves as a tribute to Helsinki’s Vaasanpuistikko – the so-called “Piritori”, the people, culture and architecture of the area.
BORDERLINE X examines in particular the relationship between urban space and identity, the contradiction between public image and lived reality, and the emergence of subcultures and their impact on urban culture.
BORDERLINE X aims to challenge one-sided images of Helsinki and its areas, to give space to stories that fall outside the mainstream and to create an experience for the viewer that is at once aesthetic, emotional and social.
Vaasanpuistikko is not just a space.
It is a border.
The exhibition consists of a diverse whole where different mediums converse with each other: Painting, photography and conceptual art.
Exhibition open 14.5. – 31.5.
