Concreate Urban Art is an annual festival that takes place in different locations and introduces art into new urban environments. The first Concreate festival was organized in East Pasila in 2020. In 2021, the festival took over Keran Hallit in Espoo.
Concreate brought a diverse array of urban art and culture into Keran Hallit in April 2021. During the first two weeks of April, artists worked to create a unique artistic space and experience, that is not only a sight by itself, but also provides a one-of-a-kind environment for public events.
Keran Hallit is a former logistics center currently operating as a space for temporary use for different associations, organizations, companies, and experiments. During the next few years, the halls will be demolished to make space for a brand-new neighborhood. Concreate Urban Art Festival took place in a section from where the demolition will begin. Artists have created art both on the enormous walls of the hall and in smaller office spaces.
The space will be open during the summer on select dates in connection with various events.
Concreate Urban Art Festival 2021 is organized in collaboration with Keran Hallit and the City of Espoo. For more info, see Concreate’s website.
