Concreate Urban Art is an annual festival that takes place in different locations and introduces art into new urban environments. The first Concreate festival was organized in East Pasila in 2020 and in 2021 at the former logistics center Keran Hallit. In 2026 the festival was organized in Northern Finland, Kajaani.
Concreate Urban Art Festival was organized for the third time in July 2026 in Kajaani, Finland. Previously held in the capital region, the festival will see Finnish and international urban artists create a unique permanent work of art in the city.
The festival focused on Vesitorninmäki in Kajaani, where eight murals were painted on the ends of buildings. In addition, a total of three underpasses were painted nearby on Sotkamontie and Rinnekatu. 18 artists participated in the festival, six of whom came from Finland and the rest from different parts of the world. With Concreate, one of the most significant mural ensembles in Finland was created in Kajaani.
Concreate is part of the Oulu2026 Capital of Culture year and the Kajaani 375 anniversary. In addition, the festival is supported by the Embassy of Spain, the Liszt Institute – Hungarian Cultural Centre, MONTANA-CANS and Cramo.
