Dates

June 6th – 19th, 2026

Concreate Urban Art is an annual festival that takes place in different locations and introduces art into new urban environments. The first Concreate festival was organized in East Pasila in 2020 and in 2021 at the former logistics center Keran Hallit. This time Concreate takes to Kajaani, in July 2026.

Concreate is coming again – this time to Kajaani in Northern Finland! Previously held in the capital region, the festival will see Finnish and international urban artists create a unique permanent work of art in the city.

The festival will focus on Vesitorninmäki in Kajaani, where eight murals will be painted on the ends of buildings. In addition, a total of three underpasses will be painted nearby on Sotkamontie and Rinnekatu. 18 artists will participate in the festival, six of whom will come from Finland and the rest from different parts of the world. With Concreate, one of the most significant mural ensembles in Finland will be created in Kajaani.

Concreate is part of the Oulu2026 Capital of Culture year and the Kajaani 375 anniversary. In addition, the festival is supported by the Embassy of Spain, the Liszt Institute – Hungarian Cultural Centre, MONTANA-CANS and Cramo.
