I.C.E. – Indisputable Case of Emergency
Helsinki Urban Art took part in creating an event against climate change together with the city of Lahti at Kansalaistori, in Helsinki. An art work, I.C.E. – Indisputable Case of Emergency, viewing climate change was made for the event.
Nine large ice cubes were brought to the square for this art work. The water melting from the cubes flowed on names of cities painted on the square. All these cities are going to be left below sea level due to the melting of glaciers because of climate change.
Helsinki Urban Art ry painted the names of all the cities in this art work on the Kansalaistori square. The painting of almost 1000 square meters was made with spray paint and stencils cut out form old trade fair carpets.
