New street art works in Pasila
In October, two Romanian artists were brought to Finland through BuchARTest association’s Artist on the Go -project. The artists completed their pieces as a part of the street art district in East Pasila.
The mural “the Stolen Helmet” by Romanian street artist Irlo combines mythical tales and the politics of cultural heritage. The work presents the stolen Geto-Dacian Golden Helmet of Coțofenești, as an icon, a wound, and a question of belonging.
The ceramic mural, “Words of clay and fire” by Romanian Raluca Ilaria Demetrescu plays with different languages, carrying a message against violence. Fragile objects, permanent signs: they cannot force agreement, but they demand attention.
