Nordic collaboration
Helsinki Urban Art ry started a Finnish-Swedish street art exchange project in the summer 2022 to strengthen the street art networks in Nordic countries. In the project an artist exchange was carried out between Finland and Sweden. Juha Liede’s piece called High Hopes was finished in Helsingborg at Kulturhotellet Sweden Walls -event. Göteborg-based Hellström painted a piece in Pasila, Ratamestarinkatu 3. In the piece the artist is quoting Håkan Hellström’s lyrics and pondering on better times in the future.
The artist exchange supports the street art collaboration between Finland and Sweden and works as an initiative for broader and longer collaborations and networking between Finnish and Swedish street art scene.
In Sweden the project is supported by the Culture center Kulturhotellet. The project was carried out with support of Swedish Kulturfonden. Helsinki Urban Art ry is aiming to carry out similar exchange projects in Norway, Denmark and Iceland and therefore creating a foundation for broader street art collaborations between Nordic countries.
