Public street art tours continue again in June

Katutaidekierros, Poppamaija. kuvaaja ?

Public street art tours in Itä-Pasila will be held again starting 6th of June on the first Saturday of the month, from 11 am to 1 pm. Street art tours start at the main entrance of Pasila Library, no registration is required. Depending on the weather, bring drinks, an umbrella or warm enough clothing.

The public tours are held in English, but we also offer tours in Finnish upon request. The price of the tour is optional (recommended minimum €10). Payment methods include cash and MobilePay. The proceeds from the tours go to our association’s operations and the creation of new street art works.

Itä-Pasila is not wheelchair accessible due to it being built on two levels. There are several staircases in the area. Some detours are possible in order to make the tour more accessible and people with physical disabilities can join the tour partly.

In Finland, the collection of street art in Itä-Pasila is unique in terms of the number of works, diversity and level of art. The gray concrete district, built in the 1970s, became known for its graffiti and street art over 30 years ago. After a long period of zero tolerance towards street art, the area’s street art culture has flourished again.
