AUCTION ARTISTS

• JUKKA PELTOSAARI

  Helsinki-based Jukka Peltosaari’s works show influences of comics, graffiti and street art. His style is colorful and graphical and varies from reduced to rich. Peltosaari deals with humans inner and external world and the interaction of these two.

• SHEIKKI

  Sheikki is an artist from Espoo and he is best known for his High on life -artworks. He was part of Purkutaide project in Kerava, which gave him a lot visibility in the  street art scene. His black-and-white style recognizable, splashy and definitely memorable.

• SELLEKHANKS

  Sellekhanks works as a graffiti artist, a graphic designer and as a VJ. His graffitis can be found in Suvilahti. Sellehanks has also exhibited in Lux Helsinki and in Purkutaide-project in Kerava.  His style includes bright colours and cartoonish characters and elements.

• POPPAMAIJA

  Poppamaija is a street artist, bamboo tattoo artist, and graphic designer. Her inspirations come from pure nature, Saimaa, and ugly urban details. Poppamaija has painted her characters around Europe and Asia since 2009. She has also done numerous commissions for different cities and festivals, such as Flow Festival. Poppamaija belongs to the female street art collective Mimmit peinttaa.

• PLAN B

  As its name suggests, Plan B creates alternate versions of things we know, whether it’s a bird house memorial plate, traffic sign or well-known work of art. Works often contain social critique in a humorous way, and street art also gets a share of it.

• NIKITA NOMERZ

  Russian artist Nikita Nomerz pieces together paintings and photographs in his art. His art pieces are often black and white and they wonder the big and small questions of life. Nikita Nomerz worked in Finland in summer 2022 as a part of Helsinki Urban Art’s residency program aimed at Russian artists who oppose the war in Ukraine.

• SLAVA PTRK

  Slava, who is from Ekaterinburg, Russia, often deals with current topics in his works, using a wide variety of techniques and materials. Irony and sarcasm are the artist’s most important tools with which he describes the absurd things happening around him. Slava PTRK was also one of Helsinki Urban Art’’s summer residence artists. His works can also be seen at Pasila Street Art District.

• LAURA GRÖNDAHL

  Laura Gröndahl is a clothing designer, but during her career she has focused more on fabric print design. Her works can be seen in Nanso, Vimma and H&M’s textiles. Gröndahl loves colors and usually bases her fabric prints in her paintings. Gröndahl says her painting process mainly consists of intuition and bold use of colors. She also created art in the mural center of Keran Hallit in Espoo.

• KUOSITTAJA

  Kuosittaja is a Helsinki-based illustrator and textile designer, who describes her style as urban and playful with a fresh Scandinavian touch. Her main focus is in illustrating and graphic design, but she has also been making street art; her murals have been seen at Concreate Urban Art Festival and in Wasa Graffitilandia.

• ACTON

  During the 90’s Acton’s art was a very visible part of the scenery of his hometown Espoo. The main theme in the works of Acton are letters, the very core of graffiti. He describes his style as a mix of mid 80’s NYC -style and Scandinavian style. Acton has also created black and white artworks which differ from the original colour palette of graffiti art.

• HENDE

  Hende has worked as a graffiti artist for a long time and he often takes a stand in societal issues in his works. For example, at Concreate Urban Art Festival where he created an installation about bullying together with the kids of the Vuorela school home.
