OPEN CALL: Concreate 2026 – Kajaani
Concreate Urban Art Festival is back — and this time in Northern Finland, in Kajaani, as part of the Oulu 2026 European Capital of Culture year. A group of artists will gather in the city from July 6–19 to create a unique artistic area.
We are now looking for artists to join what may be the world’s northernmost street art festival, in the land of the almost endless summer night.
During the festival, artists will paint both large-scale murals on building facades and underpasses, where each artist will have approximately 10 meters of wall space to paint. The building facades are roughly the size of the wall shown in the image below.
We will provide artists with paints, lifts, accommodation, and meals, and we will also reimburse reasonable travel expenses. In addition, artists will receive a fee of €300 (underpass) or €600 (building facade).
Apply by June 7 by sending an open application with the subject line “Application Concreate (your name)” to info@helsinkiurbanart.com. In your application, tell us about yourself, your art, and the work you are planning for Concreate.
Please attach a portfolio or 3 images of works relevant to Concreate, and include links to your website or social media channels if applicable. Also mention whether you are interested in painting a building facade, an underpass, or either one. Please also let us know which dates you would be available to be in Kajaani.
If you wish, you may also create a draft sketch for a mural on a building facade using the drawing in the image below as a template and include it with your application.
